Electricity is likely to be cheaper by Rs 2.20 per unit
Consumers will get relief of 17 billion 81 crore rupees from the decision
The Central Power Purchasing Agency has applied to Nepra to reduce the cost of electricity by Rs 2.20 per unit for December.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency has applied to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to reduce the price of electricity by Rs 2.20 paisa per unit for fuel adjustment for December.
In its application, CPPA stated that more than 8.96 million units of electricity were generated in December.
The reference cost of electricity was set at Rs 9 3 paise per unit while the production cost of electricity in December was Rs 7 11 paise per unit. In terms of fuel adjustment, 2 rupees 20 paise per unit should be reduced.
If the application is approved by Nepra, the consumers will get a relief of 17 billion 81 crore rupees, but it will not benefit the consumers of Lifeline and K Electric.
